Took a tour Package-JAXF**** with Oyo Rooms and paid *****/-. Overall experience is bad, waste of money and time. This experience is caused by following issues
*. Poor package planning:
*We approached Oyo for a package and they provided * nights/* days package at *****/-. After they announce discount across all packages, got it for **,***/- which is great. Unfortunately trip is planned in such a way that we end up in traveling in car for * complete days.
Delhi to Manali: Minimum of ** hours to reach Manali. It took us ** hours
Manali to Dalhoussie(Khajjar): Minimum of ** hours to reach Khajjar and we took almost same time when drove without even a food break
Dalhoussie to Shimla: ** hours journey
Shimla to Delhi: ** hours
Due to this travel, we ended up in the car for * complete days even when started early morning. Due to Inexperienced package planners we will end up wasting money by staying in the car instead of visiting places.
*. Hotel Accommodation: Of the * hotels given in Itenary, contact address and numbers of two hotels is incorrect. We will never be able to reach those hotels if we go by that address. Unfortunately we reached late evening and ended up searching * hours to find the hotel in mid night during heavy snow fall. Oyo is giving the details from their data base which is not being validated and passed on the customers.
Shimla Stay: Our room is booked at Am Neu Hill House in Manali per the itenary given to us.When we go to the place, there is no board or nothing and the hotel is behind some other hotel which you have to through parking. Contact number is not working so we ended up searching for * hours and finally has to disturb lot of people in the neighbourhood to find the place.
Hotel name on internet is Luxurious Home Studio when searched with address so no way you can find the hotel easily without people knowing it.
Dalhoussie/Khajjar Stay: Our room is booked in Hotel Country Resort which is in dense forest **+ kms away from Dalhoussie. Without direction we can’t reach this place the road is good for trekking and not for vehicles. We were able to reach the place only with directions from hotel guy. Also the place is horrible and not maintained properly. Good for bachelors and to party as it is very lonely but not recommended for families/kids. We have reached this hotel at **:** PM but didn’t dare to stay further. Vacated on the next day morning by ** AM itself.
Shimla/Kufri Stay: Our room is booked at Kufri Ashray. Room cleanliness and mountains view from balcony is really awesome but service is pathetic. If you are booking, ask for room in Shimla as it is near all the malls, shopping area and other site seeing. Kufri is only one day trip and nothing available over there after the activities. Even if Oyo gives you free don’t go there because staff will not take dinner order even if it’s **:** PM or so. One of the day to place additional order for dinner, I called reception at *:** PM and no one picked up the phone and there is no telephone Index to call the restaurant. Exactly **:** PM, boy came and saying Kitchen closed. Even after I mentioned its exactly **:** PM and there is no restaurant number to call directly, they denied food.
Their complimentary breakfast is pathetic. Attached the menu where they will serve only * Paratha or * Poori or * slices of bread with omelette/Jam/butter. Anything extra will be charged. I never saw hotel with so many restrictions. Very bad experience.
*. Vendor communication:
Cab arrangement: Our vehicle met with an accident on the first day while travelling from Delhi to Manali due to rash driving. By god’s grace, none of us had injuries but vehicle damaged badly and cannot be taken further. Had waited for * hours and after multiple calls with vendor and Oyo, Vendor has offered us to take a cab to Manali and same was reimbursed. We had to deal with * drivers during our trip. Though we have paid complete amount even before the trip (** days prior) driver of the cab is not informed so we had to explain them and show proofs of payment. Reached out to Oyo and then clarified to driver after multiple follow ups. As drive don’t had money, we had to pay for Diesel and his expenses which was reimbursed later.
Complimentary breakfast: Though complimentary breakfast is included in itenary, hotel is Manali mentioned that our room booking was done without breakfast and has to pay for it. We had to call customer service and after a day they fixed with hotel but didn’t update us/customer. When spoke to hotel they mentioned that its been sorted.
Irritating customer service: One of the worst customer service team I have ever seen. They call every day in the morning and evening just to take feedback but not bothered to fix the problems. Multiple people will keep calling and asking issues raised *-* days back and not knowing what is happening. When asked for update on the issue, they never turn up. They don’t check the status of issues raised by customer but will simply call and ask for feedback.
*. Not selecting appropriate hotels based on the location:
They provide you hotels which are low cost for them and not in appropriate location.
*. Hotel in Manali is in peak traffic area where it takes *-* hours to get even * kms out of that place.
*. Hotel in Khajjar is in deep forest where there is no proper road
*. Hotel in Kufri is at site seeing place because no restaurants or shopping or anything around. Good to have hotel in Shimla so one day we can visit Kufri and return.
Overall our vacation has become like a hell and torture due to poor service
