SHAKILA A filed complaint against Bata India Limited on Jan 5, 2026
I placed an online order for a Bata shoe (Size *) priced at Rs.**** on the Bata official website. At the time of ordering, the product was clearly shown as “In Stock” and a delivery timeline of *–* days was confirmed. I received order confirmation via email and SMS.
However, after waiting for *–* days, the order was cancelled by Bata stating “stock not available.” After contacting customer support, I was informed that the cancellation was due to stock unavailability.
Despite this explanation, the same product and size continued to be displayed as “In Stock” on the website. Trusting this information, I reordered the same product. Unfortunately, this order was also cancelled after several days. This issue has occurred three times repeatedly.
If the product is genuinely out of stock, it should not be shown as available on the website, nor should customers be allowed to place orders. Repeatedly accepting orders, confirming them, making customers wait, and then cancelling later amounts to misleading information, unfair trade practice, and deficiency in service.
Due to this repeated failure, I have faced unnecessary mental stress, loss of time, and inconvenience. I request the concerned authorities to take necessary action and direct the company to provide a proper explanation and appropriate compensation.
