VASU GUPTA filed complaint against Hp Laptop on Jul 23, 2019
I purchased hp laptop in ****, with * year additional onsite warranty valid till August ****. My laptop Hard-disk crashed due to some internal fault in May **** and they took more than a week to replace it with a new one covered under warranty and the replacement was not done properly. The laptop didn't start after hard-disk replacement and after *-* rechecks it booted up. after a few days i started facing a new issue "System Exception Tread not handled" and the laptop boots up immediately and all my ongoing work is lost. The issue occurred occasionally and laptop automatically restarts within * minutes. After a month on ** July **** (well within onsite warranty of * months left i.e. August ****) my laptop was not booting up, there was no display and caps-lock light kept on blinking. I reported the "System Exception thread Not Handled Issue" and no display issue immediately to the customer support via whats-app chat-bot and filed a complaint for the same. I was told that both the problems corresponds to the motherboard issue. Service Center contacted me and told me that there will be a motherboard replacement. The service engineer came for onsite replacement in the rain and was completely wet due to the rain he walked through for *km from national highway. He opened the laptop and saw an "ic" was burnt on motherboard and elevated the case and told that the back-end team will be send photos and they will confirm that what will be done next. He took the snaps of the motherboard and forwarded it to the service center manager. This whole process took around an hour and he was still wet. I received a call after * days form the service center that the product will not be covered under warranty as they have detected a liquid drop an the motherboard, which may well be caused by the engineer itself who was completely wet due to the rain. When i contacted the customer support again they kept saying that it will not be covered under warranty and told me nothing regarding the reason why it will not be covered. Moreover they "failed to show me the mark due to water-droplet on being asked again and again, at the end they just forwarded the same photos that the engineer told at the very beginning and asked me find the droplet myself and told me that this will not be covered under warranty and i need to pay hp to get it repaired. When i asked for the cost to get it repaired, they told me that they'll send me an email regarding the quotation. After * days i received a phone call from hp official , he told me that repair cost is too high, we cannot repair the laptop you need to purchase a new laptop, and same information was conveyed to me via email after about an hour. They kept on harassing me at the end told that even though in warranty we'll not repair it this is just a box, throw it in the dustbin and go buy a new laptop.
