I purchased my Duke *** & it was from one of the first batches immediately after launch & was delivered to me on **/**/****. While taking delivery of the bike there was no Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) done. When I got the bike, I couldn’t test it to full potential as it was a new bike and was following the break in period advice. Due to personal reasons, I did not ride the bike much hadn’t notice many issues. In the meanwhile, I was called multiple times to drop off the bike at service center due to Duke *** Gen * Recall issues which I did. When I did start riding the bike I noticed a lot of the issues as below:
• Over Heating Issue, coolant temperature high.
• Top Speed not crossing *** KMPH
• Software Issues with the bike.
• Bike tilts to one side riding free hand
On **/**/**** I took it to KTM service Kasturba Road in Bangalore. I conveyed all the issues I was facing on the bike & requested them to do my second service also. I was assured by the in charge that all issues would be resolved.
Later I was called & told the disc and magwheel was bent. I was very confused as to how as the bike had done lesser than **** KMS & not ridden much. After more investigation they realized that the Mag Wheel bend was from the factory as there was no signs of any impact. At first the service in charge assured me it would be replaced under warranty but later I was told to pay for the new wheel. I was very shocked to see this change of attitude from them & even spoke to the manager & warranty was denied. I didn’t want to make it a bigger issue hence I paid for the replacement & was assured by the in charge that all my issues were resolved. I took a short test ride as the service center is located on the main road. The bike seemed fine. On the way back home from service center itself I noticed new issues on the bike. The bike kept switching off & stalling. I was so shocked how can a bike go for service & come back with more issues. These issues just increased & were as follows:
• Extreme Power Loss.
• Turns off while riding from *rd to *th gear.
• Cold start takes * or * times as the bike automatically switches off.
• Bike is jerking while accelerating.
• Power Loss randomly while riding.
• Clutch issues with the bike as Free play is not normal.
• False neutrals on all gears.
• Bike does not go to neutral when it must.
• Over Heating Issue, coolant temperature high.
• Top Speed not crossing *** KMPH
• Software Issues with the bike.
• Bike tilts to one side riding free hand.
The list also included the first issues I faced which were promised as resolved & still not resolved.
I contacted the in charge later & informed him about the issues & he advised me to use the bike more & if issues persisted then he would arrange a home pick up & drop as I was denied warranty (Good Will Gesture).
I kept using the bike & the frequency of the issues just increased. I continued to use the bike till around **** KM ODO reading decided I will drop it off to another service center.
So dropped my bike in KTM Banaswadi Service Center Bangalore on **/**/****. I was greeted by Mr. Rakesh & I informed him of all the issues. He took a note of it & gave my vehicle back the next day stating the issues are resolved. After taking a test ride I did notice that the bike felt way better. I took the bike back home & realized the issues were still not fixed.
At this point I was very frustrated & contacted the KTM Kasturba Service Center & tried getting in touch with the in charge but the in charge had changed. I Spoke to him & informed him about the complete issue & I was asked to leave the bike in service center. I told him I was promised a Home Pick Up, but no help was given. Later I registered a complaint with KTM from app & I filed a case.

I was contacted by service manager Mr. Kiran & bike was picked up by one of the employees on **/**/**** & taken to service center.
I shared information about all the issues I had with the bike & was assured that these issues will be investigated. After multiple front & back calls with the manager I was also informed that they also notice the same issues I faced & they will resolve the issues.
On **/**/**** the bike was returned to me in the evening at my house & took a test ride it seemed to be fixed. The service manager explained what they did to resolve all issues. I felt satisfied and they had gotten a few forms home regarding the closure of the case & acceptance of resolution provided. Me noticing things were fixed on the bike I agreed to the requested & signed the documents provided.
Later, **/**/**** midnight around * A.M I took my bike out for a ride. After riding for a few minutes, the bike switches off & stalls. I was very frustrated. I thought it might be a one-off instance. I tried turning on the bike & wouldn’t turn on. I got even more frustrated as it was the middle of the night & I was stranded. After waiting for * minutes the bike finally turned on, I stared heading back home. That’s when I noticed the bike won’t accelerate more than **** RPM. There was no throttle response whatsoever & check engine light would show up & accelerator wouldn’t work.
I realized if I rode my bike anything more than **** RPM there is no throttle response, loss in accelerator response & check engine light shows up. Took proof of the issues I faced.
Now the list of my issues was as follows:
• Extreme Power Loss.
• Turns off while riding.
• Bike does not accelerate more than **** RPM
• Bike does not start.
• check engine light is on
• Bike is jerking while accelerating.
• Power Loss randomly while riding.
As before my bike came back with more issues.
Managing with extreme frustration & anger I reached home & sent the videos to the service manager & requested that I have been cheated on with KTM & will now continue to fight a legal battle for full refund plus any expense plus damages.
I have been a KTM customer since **** with there first RC *** launch. Since then, I have purchased Duke *** Gen * BS*, Duke *** Gen * BS* & now Duke *** Gen *.
It’s been less than a year that I have purchased this vehicle & ridden it lesser than **** KM. I am facing all these issues.
I have had multiple issues with my KTM bikes ever since the beginning but never has it escalated to this level. Me being such a loyal customer, I have been completely cheated on by KTM India. I will not consider anything lesser than a complete refund plus damages, not even a replacement bike. I would not like to waste my precious time or my hard-earned money anymore on this company.
