Clear Trip - Incorrect Information

Hi,
I booked a ticket through cleartrip from pune to delhi for ** aug ****. Passenger name is Shanta Rani but bymistake the last name entered as Ranu. I called cleartrip and they said that AirIndia is not permitting for this slight change.
Then I called to AirIndia customer care and they said that yes you can change upto * alphabets if its not changing the full name.
Cleartrip is even not listening and clearly denying and not ready to share the proof or circular.
This is really a fraud when company is agreeing and travel portal is denying.
Please help. This money is very important
