Agoada - Hotel refusal after confirmed booking

Matter -Re: Agoda Booking ID ********* Check-in March **, **** SFEN S:JH PCXX HCEN A:UHGN BID(*):*********
Despite of receiving two confirmation mails
from Agoda and OYO of the above mentioned reservation, at the time of check-in we were refused accomodation and were told that the rooms are FULL.Please note that the room charges were paid in full. Further to note that we reported at the hotel around * PM after driving for ** hours from the hills. We needed the night stop badly as we were older people and had again a ** hours drive to Kolkata, next day. Thankfully, we could manage to reserve two rooms in a hotel of our choice at far extra cost as the alternative offered to us by OYO( I didn't know that OYO is also involved) representative Mr. Rashid was not acceptable. Also I wonder why I was offered INR **** like some kind of compensation. On return home,when I had approached Agoda, they shrugged off their responsibility by informing me that they couldn't help me other than refunding my paid amount as I didn't contact them from the hotel that very day.Even when I wrote to them that I did talk to the hotel authority to contact Agoda, the hotel said that they have no business relationship with Agoda,they book only through OYO.Agoda had never intimated me that OYO is their business partner.Now, how can they pass the buck. When I told them further that I thought it was prudent to arrange hotel on our own instead of beating around bushes trying contacting them, it fell on deaf ear.
Though I have mentioned that the loss incurred due to refusal was INR *****,but the humiliation, mental agony, frustration caused was immense as we eere older people and were deadly tired.You may assess the monetary value of that in real terms.
