DTDC - DTDC Courier not delivered and not returned for more than 20 days

Dear Sir,
I had submitted a courier to DTDC at their Chennai, OMR (karapakkam) branch on **-May for Rs **. It was supposed to be delivered to a district next to Chennai. DTDC courier tracking number is C********. However, it was never delivered/returned for several days. When i called their central helpdesk to follow up on this, they said they will take the complaint. But no progress was made. As per their online tracking it was sitting at their Madhavaram branch for several days without any action. When i called that branch office, they mentioned that they can't deliver it to the receiving address as its not within their coverage area. I asked why they accepted the booking but they asked me to contact the booking office. The booking office person at OMR branch is not helpful at all. I called their pallikaranai branch where the courier is currently held. They dont usually pickup the phone. After trying for several days, i got hold of them, and they said they will return it to OMR branch where i am supposed to go and collect. But they still have not returned. I have been trying to reach them again via phone but they are not answering the phone. It has caused me mental anguiush and unnecessary hassles. the receiver has not received the document package which has caused lot of inconvenience. Request you to pls help with getting the package back with appropriate compensation (atleast Rs. ****).
