Superdry - Defected product sold with no refund only credit note

I bought a jacket from the store and when i reached home- i saw a hole in it. So, i went to the store next day to return the same. They didnt give me refund but shared a credit note only. If there's a defect, then refund should be given of the whole amount rather than giving credit note.
