I purchased an Ola S* X electric scooter from Ola Electric approximately one year ago. From the beginning, the vehicle had a manufacturing defect related to the hub motor. Due to this defect, the scooter started experiencing motor issues and became unreliable for regular use.
Since the vehicle was under warranty, I approached the authorized service center of Ola Electric to claim the warranty and repair the issue. I first submitted the vehicle for service in October. However, the service center officially registered my complaint only in December after repeated follow-ups.
The vehicle remained at the service center for approximately five to six months without any proper repair being carried out. During this time, the scooter was kept idle and was left covered in dust. When we submitted the vehicle, it was in perfect condition except for the motor issue, but now the battery is also not functioning properly due to the prolonged neglect.
Whenever we contacted the service center staff, they repeatedly assured us that the motor issue would be fixed within a month. At one point, we even considered repairing the vehicle through a private technician, but the service center staff advised us not to do so and assured us that the issue would be resolved under warranty. They even informed us that the replacement motor had already been dispatched around two months earlier.
Later, we discovered that the service center had been closed or shifted to another location and the staff had also been changed. When we contacted the new service center staff, they were not aware of our vehicle or the pending repair. They told us they would check the issue and call us back the next day, but they never responded to our calls afterwards. Soon after, the new service center was also found closed.
Due to this negligence and lack of proper service from Ola Electric, I have been suffering from continuous inconvenience, financial loss, and mental stress for several months. Despite being under warranty, the company has failed to repair or replace the defective motor and has not provided any proper resolution for the issue.
Therefore, I request the Honorable Consumer Commission to take necessary action against Ola Electric for providing a defective product and deficiency in service, and to direct the company to repair or replace the vehicle or provide appropriate compensation for the losses and inconvenience caused.
