Deepti Kandpal filed complaint against Airtel on Nov 16, 2021
I requested Airtel team to add "*-day pack for international roaming" for canada for my associated number +**-**********. As the name suggests it was only requested for a day, which was clearly mentioned in my initial request email, but I received a bill of **** INR and was charged for a number of days.
Upon further questioning Airtel, it was mentioned that I continued to use data roaming and hence charged for several days in billing.
The phone which is used for this number is not used for anything but reading SMS occasionally and remains switched off. So data roaming usage is inaccurate as this number/phone was never used for the internet and even when it's switched on it uses a strong WIFI network. When I asked for data usage details with sites I browsed and timestamp, they introduced *rd party constraints and never shared details with me so I could prove this as fraud.
So there are * issues with this Airtel accusation, Firstly the package should have been activated only for * day , and secondly, even for other days the number/Phone is never used so data roaming could not have been used which they don't provide proof for.
I have been following up with Airtel since **th July and they have suspended my number without resolution. I continued to pay my monthly bill excluding the incorrect charge they made but my number remained suspended.
I have been using this number for * years outside India and many years before without any payment issue from my side. Request you to look into this and correct this misappropriation from the Airtel vendor in this case and get my number activated as soon as possible.
