Deepnanda Ray filed complaint against Amazon India on Jan 31, 2019
This is regarding a laptop trolley bag which was part of an order I placed on **nd December, ****, and I believe I am eligible for the Amazon cashback of Rs. ****/- which was applicable for fashion and luggage items at that time. However the clarification I got from Amazon.in customer care executives is that I'm not eligible for the cashback because the laptop trolley bag belongs to "personal computer" (as per one executive) / "electronics" (as per another executive). I am attaching this snapshot of the Amazon app, where the same laptop trolley bag is coming under Amazon fashion – luggage search.

On continuously querying with Amazon on why a luggage item is termed as or grouped under "Electronics" or "Personal Computer", I finally received a written clarification from an Amazon executive that I am eligible for the cashback and the same will be posted by **th Jan **** (snapshot attached). It has still not been posted, and on pursuing this issue further Amazon India acknowledged that it is their mistake but they cannot process my cashback as they work on an automated system (snapshot attached).
I believe that if this has been acknowledged as mistake from Amazon end in categorization, admission of the mistake is not enough, they should process my cash back or compensate me in a different way by providing gift voucher of the same amount. But Amazon.in Customer care refused today to help me with this. Providing wrong information during an offer and later refusing to honor it is serious breach of customer rights. Kindly help in resolving this.
