Sabir Ali filed complaint against Uber Cabs on Jun 22, 2018
Yesterday, I traveled with Uber from T* departutes, IGI Airport, New Delhi to F-** Baba Gang Nath Marg. I applied a coupon which gave me ** INR discount and the bill came ***.** INR. However I DIDN'T have a nice experience yesterday. I will share my experience before I write my complaints.
The cab driver was Liyakat (**********) who had very good rating (*.**). When I called him after booking he seemed very nice over phone. When I sat inside, he said I have to pay *** INR in addition to my bill. He said this is the entry fee for cabs to enter Airport. I said I never heard of any such thing. He said now in T*, a payment of *** INR has been initiated for commercial vehicles and he repeatedly insisted that for the benefit of riders, this amount will be added on to the later trips. I am not a frequent traveler so I thought may be the rule have changed recently. I agreed and he started the trip. The course of the trip was set via Mahipalpur and Vasant kunj to the destination. But he suddenly changed the course towards the Vasant enclave and munirika. I had a bit doubt but I thought it's fine. Then at one place he stopped the car and said he needed to buy a bottle of mineral water and asked me if I need anything. It was late at night so I said I also need a bottle of water. He went and came back with only one bottle of water and said he didn't need water. Now this time I really felt something is going wrong. So I checked the driver's face for the first time. I didn't give much attention to look at his face before. He was wearing a cap and the cab was bit dark inside so initially I coudn't check the face properly. Now that I had got suspicion, I matched his face with the profile. The person Liyakat in the app looks young. However, the guy who was driving had about a week's unshaved beard which was black and white mixed and he seemed to me about **-** years old. This time I felt really unsafe and got scared. When we reached the destination, he said the bill is ***.** INR. I said how come it's that much when it's showing ***.** in my app. He got angry and started to shout and said that I am depriving him of that ** INR that I got as promo (***.** + **= ***.**). I refused to pay him ***.** INR. Also I asked him to show any proof of the entry fee, he again shouted and told me it would be added in my Uber account in the later rides. As it was * am, I was afraid of any trouble so I didn't confront him and gave him ***.** INR (***.** + ***).
Now I am coming to my complaints. There are total * complaints altogether.
*. My main concern is that the guy who was driving was not Liyakat. The authorized driver Liyakat had very good rating. Based on the change in face and rough behaviour of this person, I can safely say this person can not be Liyakat. This is a serious violation of the safety rules and I demand strict inquiry about that person who drove yesterday and I need to follow this up.
*. Second is that person cheated me and sort of forcefully made me pay *** INR extra. I demand that extra money back.
