Agoda app - Booking number of adults different than search criteria

When I searched hotels for one room and * adults it showed me list of hotels in that area. I booked one hotel and when I reached hotel to check in in late night.. I came to know booking is done only for one adult. The hotel reception was rude and charged double to accommodate my companion. We tried explaining that it nay be system issue but due to this issue of Agoda I was charged extra by the hotel. If this was not late at night I would have walked out of that hotel. But as it was late in night and both being female we paid extra and stayed. We also going to raise complain against the hotel as they kept on changing the amount for extra charges based on out helplessness to find hotel lage night. We would have never suffered this is Agoda system would have booked what I searched for * adults. Agoda booking confirmation shows one adult but why the booking confirmation shows one adult when I searched for two adults. I overlooked it as I thought the search is based on my inputs
