Neeraj Gupta filed complaint against Agoda on Apr 1, 2022
This is in reference to a extremely bad experience I had with the Agoda Travels regarding my booking# *********.
I have made the below booking on **th March around **** Hrs and paid in full you can check the attached booking details, but currently shows cancelled in my app.
The summarized event is that I requested for a refund on a non- refundable room (careless booking mistake by me), then the room shows cancelled on my account (not done by me) and Customer Service not helping in reinstation or refunded.
I was searching for a free cancellation with Agoda. As there were many sub categories with different room rates on the hotel, and I selected one with a cheap rate.
Upon completion of booking, I realized that it was actually a non- refundable room and it has already been paid in full. I was careless while making this booking as I got confused with so many options of the room rates offered, so I immediately called the Agoda customer care and explained my situation.
The customer service informed that they will try checking with their partner and revert back if they can waive my cancellation fee.
I repeatedly asked and was given assurance that my booking will not be cancelled and someone would either call or send an email ( For this received an email dated **st March **** copy attached ) that as per the policy you cannot waive the fees.
I again called Agoda customer service on **st March **** as to explain them the situation that my travel dates are getting preponed if they cannot waive my fees atleast allow in changing the dates of the booking.I was suggested to call the hotel directly and was given the contact number ( +************ for Ponamari Residency ) I tried to call the hotel multiple times and there was no answer. I contacted the Agoda Customer Service that the hotel is unreachable for which I was informed they will try again checking with their patner.
As of *st April **** that is today my booking shows cancelled in my account, I have not cancelled this booking at my end. I was repeateadly given assurance before that my booking will never get cancelled.
I have contacted the Agoda customer service again today and been on phone with the travel agent for more than two hour wherein put on hold for more that ** min. Their no help provided no one knows how my booking without my automrization is cancelled and again asking me to wait for **HRS-**HRS.
I checked on Google for alternate numbers for the Hotel ( Ponamari Residency ) and got +************ the hotel representative Mr. Arvind informs me Expedia sent a cancellation request to them today morning reference number given for Expedia #Gupta Neeraj ( Expedia ) Booking No# ********** .
I am shocked to see the type of service received and this is worst experience I got from Agoda infact of being so loyal customer for years.
I want a solution as I have already paid in full an amount of Rs.*****. Reinstate my booking or refund me my money.
Please reach out to me ASAP on +**-**********.
*I would like to also make this aware I have all the recordings of my intraction with the customer service team of Agoda, and would not mind putting this experience on my instagram and other social media platforms.
