I want to shed light on the unfortunate series of events that unfolded during my move-out process with NestAway. As a responsible tenant, I expected a smooth transition and a fair settlement. However, I was met with disappointment when I received an exorbitant settlement report, filled with unjustified charges. Through this blog, I aim to bring awareness to the issues I faced and hold NestAway accountable for their questionable practices.
Point *: Unnecessary Charges for Exhaust Repair:
Despite no repairs being carried out, I was charged for exhaust repair. The damages were clearly a result of electricity fluctuation in the area, as substantiated by the attached video evidence. It is unjust to hold tenants accountable for damages caused by external factors beyond their control.
Point *: Unjustified Shower Repair Charges:
To my surprise, I was charged for a shower repair that was non-existent. Even the video evidence submitted fails to show any signs of damage. It is disheartening to be charged for repairs that were never required in the first place.
Point *: Light Holder and Electricity Fluctuation:
Similar to the first point, the light holder issue was a direct consequence of electricity fluctuation, as clearly depicted in the attached video. It is essential for NestAway to acknowledge the underlying cause of such damages instead of unjustly charging tenants.
Point *: The Illusion of a "Cleaning Defect":
I find it perplexing that NestAway mentioned a "cleaning defect" without any substantial evidence. The video submitted clearly showcases the cleanliness of the washroom and room, questioning the validity of this charge.
Point *: Unaddressed Washbasin Repair:
Despite being charged for a washbasin repair, it remains unresolved to date. It is unacceptable to charge tenants for repairs that were not promptly addressed by NestAway.
Point *: Pending Cabinet Repair:
The pending cabinet repair further demonstrates the lack of follow-up and completion of repairs by NestAway. Charging tenants while leaving repairs unfinished is both unprofessional and unfair.
Point *: Communication and Unresponsiveness:
Throughout the move-out process, I encountered numerous hurdles in trying to communicate with NestAway. Their website's non-functionality, coupled with unresponsive representatives, left me stranded and unable to proceed. Charging me with early move-out fees in such circumstances is highly unjust and showcases a disregard for customer satisfaction.

The recurring theme of communication problems persisted, with the non-functioning website and unresponsive representatives adding to my frustrations. Timely and effective communication is crucial for a seamless move-out process, which was clearly lacking in my experience.
Point *: Rent Dues and Maintenance Fees:
I acknowledge that the rent dues include maintenance fees, which are rightfully deducted from the security deposit. However, it is essential for NestAway to ensure transparency and accuracy in these calculations to avoid overcharging tenants.
Points ** and **: Refund Amount and Security Deposit:
The refund amount from the security deposit remains a point of contention. I urge NestAway to provide a fair and accurate breakdown of the charges to ensure a transparent refund process.
Point **: Unethical Practices and Unpaid Dues:
The decision not to pay the rent and dues was a direct result of the faults in NestAway's website and unresponsive representatives. After numerous failed attempts to contact them, I was left with no choice but to withhold payment. It is disheartening to witness NestAway's unethical practices, whereby random charges are added to minimize refunds, as shared by other flatmates who have faced similar experiences.
Point **: Unpaid Utility Charges:
I am perplexed by the inclusion of "unpaid utility charges." Given that maintenance fees are already factored into the monthly rent, which is deducted from the security deposit, and that we have diligently paid the electricity bill, there should be no outstanding amount remaining. NestAway must provide a clear explanation and justification for these alleged unpaid charges.
Conclusion:
My experience with NestAway during the move-out process has been disheartening, to say the least. The unjustified charges, lack of communication, and unaddressed repairs have left me deeply disappointed. Through this blog post, I aim to raise awareness about the issues I encountered and caution future tenants about NestAway's questionable practices. It is my hope that NestAway takes these concerns seriously, rectifies the situation, and ensures fair and ethical practices moving forward. Tenants deserve transparency, respect, and a seamless move-out process, which unfortunately was lacking in my case with NestAway.
