Jismy filed complaint against Air India on Jul 16, 2023
I was on my trip to Ecuador on **th July ****, via England and Colombia, using Avianca with a codeshare in Air India, and the PNR is TJPD*U. While doing the check-in at Delhi, the lady at the desk made me almost lose my flight by making me to redo my luggage and didn't allow me a second luggage till the end of the journey, as well as, she made me pay an extra amount of INR *****/- for the hand luggage, and I was granted the boarding pass only for the first sector till England, and of course not for the whole sector. Running and skipping the lines, I was able to reach the flight on time. But as I reached England and waiting for the boarding pass for Colombia and Ecuador, the ground staff of Avianca informed me that as I don't have the transit visa for Colombia, I cannot travel to Ecuador via Colombia. They asked - how was it possible that Air India allowed me to take the flight from Delhi without verifying the possibility of completing the travel! They demanded that I should post a complaint against these improper methods, as in the future, other people also can undergo the same or even severe problems with deportation along with waste of time, money and mental pressure. As an Indian, I felt so much ashamed of the policy of Air India, as it technically represents my country and my people. After searching a long time for another connecting flight to ecuador, I was forced to return back to India at high coast of GBP ***.**/-. I kindly request that I must receive a rebound of at least **% of my travel expenses due to the lack of experience and efficiency of Air India staff.
