Nelson Jose filed complaint against Air India on May 17, 2019
I was travelling from Delhi to Bangalore on ** May by AI-*** after completing some official work. On arrival after collection of check-in baggage at Bangalore, I found its lock broken. Further, I noticed that Rs **,*** (Rs twenty-five thousand) kept in a purse was missing. Immediately, the issue was informed to Air India baggage services and a complaint was lodged. The copy of the complaint is attached along with few photographs. All the items in the baggage were left undisturbed except the purse in which the currency notes (***s and ***s) were kept. This shows that the availability of the currency in the baggage was known to the thief possibly as a result of scanning the baggage at IGI, New Delhi.
Though I shouldn't have carried cash in checked baggage tampering of the locked checked baggage is a serious matter and needs to be investigated as it is the work of an insider. Request to kindly look into the matter on topmost priority.
