I am Colonel GS Bhandari and a resident of New Delhi.
I was holding Bajaj Alllianz Insurance for my Skoda Superb car (regn No DL* CN **** MODEL ****) Policy No OG-**-****-****-******** which was due on ** Dec ** last year. The same was reminded by Bajaj Allianz and accordingly, I applied for policy renewal as third party insurance and paid an amt of Rs **,***/- for third party insurance through netbank.
I realized only when there was a govt road safety drive in Sep ** in which defaulters without PROPER car docus had to pay heavy penality. I had to pay a fine of Rs ****/- for non avl of Insurance docus when I was checked. The situation further worsened when my vehicle hit another car on ** Sep ** and the other car was badly damaged. The driver of the car was also injured. The owner asked for compensation. Again, in absence of Insurance papers I could not prefer a third party claim. I sent a number of mails to the Bajaj Company but they kept saying we are looking into it. They asked for bank transaction details and all details incl my one yr bank statement and letter from my Bank was duly sent.
I had to settle the accident case as Out of Court settlement and had to pay Rs **,***/- compensation from my own pocket.
On protracted corres with the Bajaj Insurance Company since the last four months to urgently look into the case they have only been replying that they are looking into it. In their last mail, they are saying they are in process of issuance which they finally issued a week prior to the expiry date. Which is of no relevance to me now.
a) Bajaj Allianz Insurance company must return my money of Rs **,***/- for which no insurance has been recd. The period covered is over ie upto ** Dec ****.
(b) Bajaj Allianz Insurance Company must compensate for my loss of Rs **,***/- which I had to pay to the owner of damaged car and dvr (Rs **,***/-) and to tfc police (Rs ****/-) for not carrying my papers.
(c) Bajaj Allianz Insurance Company to compensate me for Rs One Lac for causing harassment and mental agony and forcing me not to drive my car in absence of Insurance Papers and thereby resorting to cabs.
