- Oyo ruined my life Open
After *.* years of marriage and savings of * years, I planned for honeymoon and search for honeymoon packages online. I get a call from Narendra OYOtotalholidays on ** of July ****. I asked him to provide Bali package and while discussion he suggested HongKong -Macau. I liked the package so said go-ahead for the Hongkong package for Rs. *,**,*** and paid the initial amount of Rs. ***** on **th of July (unaware of the political situation in Hongkong). The starts date of the tour was ** Aug **** for * nights * days. Post that I searched the net to see things to do in Hongkong. Then I came to know that there are riots in Hongkong. On **th July very next day of the booking, I told Oyo fellow Narender that there are riots in Hongkong kindly check with your ground team and if the situation is bad we will cancel it right now as the cancellation charges will be less and we can go for other destination. For more than a week, I did continuous follow up via phone, mail, WhatsApp and he kept on telling that he will respond in an hour but he did not. Post that he stopped receiving my calls hence I called the helpdesk of OYO on Aug **th **** till **th Aug ****. The helpdesk guys were not able to connect to him or his manager told supervisors are busy on **th Aug ****. I told them on **st Aug I have packaged booked but till now I have not received my hotel booking nor my visa is done nor my flight tickets are received nor I have paid the balance. On **th Aug after multiple calls to Oyo customer care said we will arrange to call back as they are unable to trace my package details as Narendra has not provided any details of my package. If I had tried * days to reach PM Modi I would have got connected. I took a stand and said till I get connected Narendra or his manager I will not drop the call and after waiting for more than * hour I get connected to Narendar's manager. Mr Pankaj, I took the call with the help desk fellow. Mr Pankaj promised me that he will trace Narender and provide me with resolution and flight details and he will be the point of contact from now. Post that I try to call him to ask visa details as it was just * days from my travel dates. Now Mr Pankaj doesn't receive my call nor respond to my mail, it was on **th of Aug * days before my decided travel date. I don't know whether I am going or not nor I know I should cancel my leaves that I took from my office or no. Fed up from all this I searched Oyo owner Ritesh contact details. I got his mail Id and Phone Number. I mailed him and even pinged him on Whatsapp with full details. Further, I get a call from Oyo saying Ankush will handle my case. Now Ankush says on **th of Aug that the trip is cancelled and they will provide a package to other destination. I said I can't change my travel dates as my future dates don’t allow me to travel as I have a tight schedule of work and family function and festivals. I had to cancel my leaves and informed the office. My office said till **th of August I can't take leaves.
Here Mr Ankush provides me with a package adding the flight cancellation charges package start date was **th of Sep and my office did not allow me to leave in this period. Further, I communicated the same to Ankush that I can travel only after **th of Sep and he said the package cost will go higher if we go to future dates as the flight costs will go high. So I decide to cancel my plan to go and asked for a full refund but Oyo says their policy says they cant refund.
Questions to Oyo.
*) If Oyo is a legit travel expert they would have informed us about the ground situation (riots were going on since *-* months).
*) If right next day of booking when I informed about riots the Oyo fellow had taken it seriously and suggest not to go and cancel the plan we would have saved the cancellation charges.
*) Till **th I was not sure I was travelling or not. Why it was taken to the edge (why I had to beg for my flight details hotel details and visa details just * days before my travel).
*) The flight tickets were cancelled on ** of Aug ****, the same day of travel.
*) Due to all this mess, my travel dates are gone ahead eventually the prices are also gone up (why I have to face this due to Oyo).
*) Oyo after all the mess from Oyo had to cancel the travel and putting cancellation charges on my head.
*) On Monday evening **th Mr Ankush lied that he sent a fresh package but only * days ie. on Wednesday I get a package with previous cancellation charges.
*) Oyo team members right from Narendra, Pankaj and Ankush lied. Even I had put my story on twitter but no response from Ritesh and team.
*) It was my dream to go to honeymoon before planning for baby, life events can Oyo help me to build.
**) Why I have bare the flight cancellation charges and higher fresh tour package cost due to dates change which was purely mess made by Oyo, which if we had decided earlier July I had got a package to Singapore - Malaysia for * and *days for **k in the month on July now the same package is Rs. ****** due to festival peak travel.
I have been badly mentally harassed by Oyo I even wrote in a mail that I will commit suicide if my issue is not resolved and if I don't travel in my budget to my desired destination but no response for that also.
All the evidence (calls and mail) are recorded and request Voxya to resolve my case and get me maximum support to achieve my once in lifetime goal to travel in my budget and get full refund and compensation for my mental harassment and other increases in my travel fare. Kindly teach a lesson to Oyo and others that they can't play with one's life.
I had to get humiliated in front of my inlaws and shame that due to Oyo all the packed bags had to be unpacked and I am unable to take my wife abroad.
