- Overbilling for broadband connection kept in safe custody Open
I travelled to the USA from **th March **** to *th Sep **** and made a request to Airtel Call Centre to keep my landline and broadband connection (My Airtel landline *** ******** and broadband connection no.************_tn) in safe custody for the said period. This request was made by me to the Airtel Customer Care (*** **** ****) on **th Mar **** and **th Mar ****. The safe custody charges are nominal compared to the regular bill for broadband connection.
As I had multiple services (a.Landline b.broadband and c.Mobile connection no.**********) Airtel had bundled the * services together into one under Airtel Black Scheme they told me that for keeping the landline and broadband connection in safe custody they would unbundle the services and bill separately for each.
I received * sms messages from Airtel on **th Mar **** for the same and these are also attached.
Inspite of the same Airtel while I was in the US,Airtel sent me bills for the full payment for the broadband connection(as if I was using the broadband internet) with the threat of late payment charges and disconnection if the bills are not paid and so I paid as I was not able to make international calls to Airtel to remind them about the safe custody arrangement. SMS messages from Airtel dated **th Mar **** attached.
The * bills I paid are **th May **** Rs.****.**,*th June **** Rs.****.** and **th Aug **** Rs.****.** totalling Rs.****.Receipts attached.
After my return from the US on *th Sep **** I made a complaint vide email dated **-*-**** to Airtel to refund the amount or adjust against future bills.They replied on **th Sep **** refusing my request.
Please raise a media campaign to marshal support for my complaint; also please issue a legal notice to Airtel to refund the amount or adjust the amount against my future bills and file a complaint in the consumer court if they fail to resolve the issue in my favour.
