I ordered multiple items from Cityfurnish on **st July for my newly rented place in Hyderabad. I had paid upfront Rs.***** for * months of rent through a no-cost EMI from HDFC Bank. They partly delivered the items on *th August with a commitment from the delivery boy that the remaining items are coming from Jodhpur and should be delivered in the next *-* days.
On not getting the remaining items, I raised a service request on the City Furnish website on *th August (#******) at **:** AM on when my items would be delivered. In the morning, an executive from City Furnish calls me and says that items are Out of Stock and would take at least *-* weeks to arrive. I confirmed the cancellation of the "Yet to Deliver" items and he said that Cancellation is confirmed and refund would be processed in **-** hours. He also assured me that I would receive a confirmation mail shortly.
I raised another Service Request (#******) at *:** PM on *th August since I did not receive any cancellation mail from Cityfurnish.
On **th August I gave a call to City Furnish. The executive apologized for the delay and said the cancellation would be done by EOD. Having no response from City Furnish on cancellation, I wrote an email to Cityfurnish at *:** PM about the cancellation issue.
On **th August, Cityfurnish come back with a sort of computerized reply on email and assure me that my issue would be escalated to the concerned team and a refund would be issued soon.
On **th August, an executive gives a call to me about the Service Request (#******). I inform her about all the conversations I had with Cityfurnish in the past week. She assures me that cancellation is processed and refund would be initiated in **-** hours.
I waited a few days since it was a long weekend due to Independence Day and on August ** and **, I called Cityfurnish and waited almost * hour both days on the line, but no executive attended me.
On **th August at **:** AM, I write an email to Cityfurnish about the issue and have not received its response yet.
Since I was not able to contact Cityfurnish in any manner, I asked my father to call them and address the grievance. After trying to contact them multiple times, he could finally reach a Cityfurnish Executive on **th August. The executive gave his manager's email id in which my father wrote an email explaining the whole issue.
The 'Manager-Customer Support' of Cityfurnish responds on **th August at *:** PM -
"We are sorry for the inconvenience caused to you and I have highlighted this to the dedicated team and they'll initiate your refund on a priority basis."
On **th August, my father sent him another follow-up email, replying to which the manager wrote - "We are working upon it and your refund will be initiated soon."
On **th August, my father sent him another follow-up email. He (manager) replied on *st September, *:** AM - "We apologize for the delay and we would like to share with you that your refund will be initiated in the next **-** hours."
On *th September, my father narrates the issue in brief to the Co-founder of Cityfurnish through the message on LinkedIn and he responds - "Allow to me get this checked and come back to you". I receive a call from the Cityfurnish executive on that day assuring me that the refund would be processed by EOD.
I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY REFUND TILL NOW OR ANY MAIL CONFIRMING THAT THE REFUND IS PROCESSED. I genuinely believe now that the company is scamming customers in the name of refund and everyone in the company is involved in it. They will first show that items are in Stock and when you pay for them, suddenly they will come back to you that the items are out of stock, and also they won't refund back the money even after numerous commitments.
