I brought a lenovo Ideapad laptop in December ****. It unexpectedly crashed in October **** while it was still covered under warranty. I reached out to lenovo customer care for a possible solution. After resetting and reinstalling the OS multiple times, I was asked to reach out to their authorized service center here in Delhi.
After deliberately misleading me multiple times, they got me to submit my system at the service center against my wishes. Since then, they have been tampering with my system hardware and software. They have been downloading my recovery media and selling it to third parties for their own private gain.
My repeated queries as to what the issue was with the system, why they got me to submit my system have not been answered.
They have been lying and misleading me right from the beginning. They lie in email and in their service report.
Despite trying my best, I have been unable to receive my laptop from the service center for the very same reason. Lenovo has no intention of accepting its mistake and is trying the bury the issue.
I therefore decided that i no longer required the services of lenovo.
I got in touch with the consumer helpline in January. After a month, I sent them a letter to their corporate office in Bangalore, detailing my grievance and demand refund of my amount. They received it on March *nd. However, no action has been taken by lenovo.
They just declared that lenovo did not have any refund or compensation policy and have refused to further entertain any request for compensation. Moreover, my queries regarding the status of my laptop are still unanswered.
I have therefore decided to escalate the matter. Please send a letter to the registered lenovo headquarters in Bangalore demanding fair compensation. On them failing to respond, I shall be going to the consumer court.
My compensation should include the trouble which I had to suffer at the hands of lenovo and lenovo authorized personnel, be it their service center personnel or their customer support personnel. I expect a compensation of atleast * lakh rupees.
Please get back to me as soon as possible. I have attached here only parts of my email correspondence with them, parts which I deem to explain the dishonorable conduct by lenovo sufficiently. For any clarification which could help in speedy resolution of this complaint, please call be as many times as required.
