Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing this complaint letter to raise my concern about the refund for my flight ticket booked through IXIGO. I had booked a flight ticket from Mauritius to Cape Town on South African Airlines, scheduled on **th February ****, via IXIGO's online platform. However, I received an email from the airline on **th January ****, stating the cancellation of Flight **** from Mauritius to Johannesburg on **th February, which resulted in my entire trip being disrupted.
Since the cancellation was done by the airline, I immediately contacted IXIGO customer support to cancel the booking and request a full refund. However, they refused to assist me and suggested that I follow up with the airline directly. After a lot of difficulty, I managed to find a point of contact for South Africa Airlines in India, Mr. Samuel Johnson, who acknowledged my situation and asked me to cancel my booking for a full refund. Mr. Johnson informed me that I had booked the flight through a travel agent in Mumbai and that I should request for flight cancellation through the same agent, i.e., IXIGO.
I immediately contacted IXIGO to cancel my booking and request a full refund. However, despite their assurance of resolving the issue, I did not receive any updates or refund from them for over ** days. Every time I followed up with them, they gave me the same response that they were following up with the airline. Moreover, when I disputed the partial refund of Rs **** that they received from the airline, they promised to issue a full refund without any deduction. However, they went back on their promise and credited only Rs **** to my credit card towards partial refund, which caused additional mental stress.
I feel cheated by IXIGO as I have been made to run from pillar to post for the last ** days, which has resulted in financial loss and mental stress. I had paid a total of Rs ***** for my ticket, and I am yet to receive my full refund. Therefore, I want to to take strict action against IXIGO and ensure that they provide me with my full refund and additional compensation for the mental stress caused.
