on **-dec-**** during our trip to goa, i along with my wife, were roaming in calangute where an executive from palmarinha holiday approached us and offered us one lucky draw coupon. on opening the coupon there was a mega price of laptop/ camera /led tv / holiday worth rs **, ***. as a condition for claiming the prize, we were asked to visit one of their resorts namely, hotel palmarinha resorts & suites (address: porbawaddo, calangute, goa-******). when we went there, we were then told that it is mandatory to first attend a presentation before claiming the prize. the so called holiday consultant then showed us various * star hotels and told us that they have a tie up with welcomheritage itc group, rci & dae(dial an exchange) and we can holiday in these hotels by paying some minimal charges(rs. ***/-) for a period of * years if we take their membership for rs. *****.
after showing me the video and explaining the features about the product ( i.e. * days of holidays in a year for * years in any of palmarinha holiday resorts & its club affiliates) they told me to make the instant decision about buying then and there and relying on the brand image and brand value of palmarinha holiday i took the decision of buying the membership. to may utter shock and dismay the sales persons did not explain me or give idea about the asf payment every year while buying the membership. it was later after i made the payment for membership and i received the welcome kit containing unilateral forced terms and conditions i came to know about the asf payment to be made every year. at the end of it i feel like i have been conned. from the date of becoming member in dec. **** till today i have only one night utilized in palmarinha holiday because of non availabilty. so far i have paid around rs. *****/- towards the membership.
some false promise given by the sales/marketing team:-
*.this offer is valid for maximum of * persons.
*. scheme will entitle the customer for maximum of * nights and * days (per year) of accommodation with complementary services in our listed * – * star properties around the india with zero maintained cost.
*. you will get * studio apartment.
*. the scheme will be valid for a period of * year from the date of purchase.
*. * night * days complimentary from palmarinha resort,goa or any of palmarinha holidays club affiliates.
*. * years complimentary membership of rci (rci which has **** hotels around the world under its roof).
*. * days national / international complimentary from rci.
*. * extra weeks free vacation and * nights x * free
i am member of palmarinha holidays, red season, when i try to get a booking in royal inn,udaipur in peak seasons, there are try sending me manali, they said to me royal inn, udaipur is not avaliable right now, fully pack, when i am taking membership the venue manager, miss tanvi they said that if are red membership than u will get booking at any cost at any resort across the india,
but when i speak monica fernandes member relation girl, she said it is not possible get right now, it fully pack, as member or customer i want to reality of royal inn,udaipur for booking purpose, first i called as member royal inn directly for booking, they said it is not possible to get booking in ** feb to ** feb. date of call was made * feb. ****. after * days back i gave to my frinds he made call saying non member and calling from ahmedabad, u dont believe this they immdedately ready to booking as i am non member, what shall say or how i can believe this bloody girl monica fernandes, who is saying not possible to book at peak seasons.
we called on customer care number several times to cancel our membership and refund our money as we were not satisfied with the membership because the claims which were made before selling us the membership turned out to be false. but they simply denied cancelling the membership and refunding our money stating that membership is non refundable in any circumstance. we have only one night vacation with them.
we called their customer service executive monica fernandes on his mobile phone on *********** on **-**-**** and his executive miss tanvi(mob ***********) and told them that we want to cancel the membership and want refund of our membership fees as we are not satisfied with the membership. they assured us a call back for checking the cancellation policy with their senior, after which neither they called back nor picked our phone .
we tried connecting with them on their mobile phones but no response from their side. we asked customer care to connect us with their executive miss tanvi who sold us this membership but they never connected us with them and when we told them that we will lodge complaint in police then they disconnected the call .
palmarinha holidays are cheating the tourists in goa by luring them with lucky draw coupons and by selling them their memberships by making false claims. they have a well scripted fraud plan where they filter their targets by gathering some of the basic information from the tourists by asking questions during the course of discussion like: -
*) are you husband-wife(lucky draw is only for husband –wife, since generally couples prefer more to go for such memberships)
*) your age group is between **-**(they target people who have capacity to pay and will to go on holidays with family).
*) do you have a credit card(executive told this to be a pre – requisite for claiming the prize. now we realize they asked for it so that they can swipe/ debit the entire amount in the name of authorization).
*) you should be tourist only with no connection in goa(by the time tourists reach their hometown and realize that they have been cheated, they are in no position to file an fir in police station or file a case in consumer court since the cause of action lies entirely in goa and under no circumstance the tourist will come back to goa to take legal action since that itself will double the expense of the tourist).
*) list down the last three trips and the total expense you made on those trips(by this they take idea about the paying capacity and how frequently the person holidays. also they show the same amount in the end to compare how much the tourist had spent on just * holidays in the past and how he can be benefitted in future by paying a much lesser amount that too for * star hotels by taking palmarinha holidays membership).
this fraud is going on a large scale as they have been targeting lot of tourists in goa.
it is very bad practice on part of palmarinha holidays such a big organisation who are cheating people with their hard earned money.
i request your good self to kindly help out & get my refund along with interest at the earliest.
