*. I had taken an international roaming pack for Rs **** for a duration of ** days for Europe for my Airtel Postpaid mobile connection from ** May to ** June ****. I got it activated at Airtel Store in Bakshi Nagar, Jammu. I paid Rs **** to ensure credit limit is not crossed. However, once in Europe, my phone connection did not work properly. First, the data stopped and then even calls and SMS stopped.
*. I faced a lot of trouble and made a number of calls to the International Roaming helpline did all I was asked to try to no avail. I have call recordings of my calls to the helpline. Finally, I had to get the roaming activated on some other number. I also incurred some financial loss because I could not get banking alerts and OTPs. I contacted the concerned person at Airtel Store Jammu also who also expressed the inability to get my connection working again and assured me that the IR Pack of RS **** will not be charged and advised me to get it activated on some other number if I needed it. Out of desperation, I got roaming activated for Rs **** on another Airtel number a prepaid one. The same can be checked.
*. On return to India on ** May ****, my SIM was still not working. I raised a complaint at Jammu Airtel Store and Rs **** was adjusted in my next bill. This was against the Rs **** I had deposited to ensure credit limit.
*. However, in the bill for June Rs **** has been charged despite being promised that it will not be charged. I have apprised the Airtel Store repeatedly and I have call recordings and WhatsApp conversations to prove it. But the complaint has not yet been resolved. After trying to get the issue resolved and failing Airtel Store advised me to write an email which I did on ** June but got no response at all. I again wrote a reminder email on ** June when I was contacted by customer care and offered a rebate of Rs **** only which is not acceptable to me. I have not only been harassed left without calling, OTP and SMS service in a foreign land but also not been listened to clear my problem. I also had to pay an additional Rs **** because of this. Now I am expected to pay Rs **** for the number which did not work?
After a prolonged exchange of emails, I have now been informed that no waiver is being given. I now demand waiver of the charges of Rs **** and additional compensation of Rs ***** for the financial and mental hardship faced by me while I was abroad and left high and dry without any means of communication and access to banking and internet services.
