I booked Oyo Rooms OYO ***** Greens Race View at Ooty for *st June **** to *rd June **** on **th May **** and made full payment Rs- ****/- well in advance as was shown on the website. I got confirmation from Oyo and my booking ID was UWGA****. I reached Ooty travelling from Mysore on *st June **** at around *.** pm. I rang Oyo number about my booking at *.** PM, as I haven’t got any updates about the hotel location. I talked some Oyo person and he assured me that I have a prepaid confirmed booking at OYO ***** Greens Race View and all I need to do is to get there. The accommodation was uphill and away from the bus stand, so I have to pay Rs. *** to the Auto driver to get there. It was like a house and there was no reception. I found a lady on the first floor and she was surprised as she wasn’t expecting any guest. She talked to her husband and then denied check-in stating there is low tariff issue.
It all took around ** minutes and by then, the auto has returned and we were at our own. I called Oyo assistant Shruti at *.** pm and narrated her issue, she put me on hold and talked to the property owner and later accepted that they had some issues and she tried to shift us on some other Oyo facility nearby. She made several calls and couldn’t find any solution so she disconnected the call at *.** pm saying that she will call me back in ** minutes with some alternate arrangement. Soon I got a message on my phone from Oyo saying my request was logged under case ID ********.
I never received any call from Oyo so I called Oyo again at *.** pm and talked to Muskan. She put my phone on hold and after * minutes of hold, the call disconnected automatically. At *.** pm I talked to Hussain and was on hold for *.** minutes before the call disconnected.
By *.** pm it was clear that Oyo was not going to provide any solution, so we picked our bags and left from there helplessly on foot. We had to climb down around *.* km to reach the city. We wandered hotel to hotel and finally got a room at around *.** PM for Rs. **** for one night at Hotel Maneck Residency,
Lower Bazaar Road.
By the time we got into the room. It was already *.** PM and our whole day was ruined. To add salt to the injury, I received a message on *nd June at *.** AM saying my booking ID UWGA**** was cancelled as I did not check-in.
For *nd June I booked OYO ***** Hotel Nilgiris Inn online for Rs-****/- and paid **** for two days in Ooty along with Rs-****/-I paid for OYO ***** Greens Race View. If I put the loss of time and mental torture aside, only financially I suffered a loss of Rs-**** due to the breach of contract by Oyo.
After getting home on *th June, I called Oyo to Inquire about the issue Mr.AVNISH handled my call and soon transferred it to someone else. All of them were unaware of the actual issue and they told me that this is a case of “no show” and the maximum they can do is refund my principal amount if I make a formal request.
