I am Ravindra Patil. I have been using mobile number ********** for more than ** years. i bought this number from Tata docomo which is now Airtel (from ****)
I write this later to make you aware about cheating by airtel in terms of cutting validity and data recharge.
Case: My sim suddenly stopped working a few days ago. I went to the airtel store, and they told me that the sim is damaged and needs to be replaced, it will charge ** Rs and take * hours to activate. I paid and replaced the sim but after * hours the sim was not active then again, I went to the airtel store. This time they told me that you were a customer of TATA Docomo and airtel has adopted the tata Docomo, so we must recreate your number and for that you will have to make an affidavit that this number belongs to you. (In between ** years i replaced my sim two time from airtel because of sim defect ) I told them that I recharged this number for a year on **/**/**** and about * months are left ( I bought recharge of Rs **** and Plan was - unlimited calling, *.* GB data /per day , ** GB extra free data and * year Amazon prime video subscription ) then they told me that it will be transferred to your new swapped sim. Now when I got a new sim after so many struggles, my old recharge was not applicable, and they told me that we cannot give you the remaining recharge because you recharged from the airtel app or online. They argued on the same point again and again and did not give existing recharge benefits. They did not give a complaint number. They suggest that you can complain to anyone. Then I went to another airtel store with the same behaviour of employees there. This is your problem because you were a tata docomo customer and airtel took over the tata Docomo. I told them if this is KYC issue then I already submitted the notarized affidavit on *** Rs stamp with all My ID proof (Aadhar card, Voter id, Driving License, Pan card) then they replied it is not KYC Issue it is Tata Docomo issue because your old photo is uploaded and not matching with current photo. I tried to make them understand that I bought this mobile number on or before **** then my photo and present photo cannot be the same and whatever the ID I had submitted that time can be matched with ID number if Photo is old and for that I submitted an affidavit with all government approved ID and current photo. But they told you could complain anywhere, so I asked where I should go. They suggested we go to a consumer forum.
I didn't understand when I recharged the same company's sim number (Airtel) to their own (Airtel) platform so why recharge should not be applicable when airtel itself is swapping sim of same number to same number and to the same sim owner? What is the fault of the customer? I am a regular customer of Airtel and recharge regularly. If in **** Airtel took over the Tata Docomo and KYC is not updated, then why did Airtel take payment and recharge the number from last * year infect they replace sim two times in between that time they have not asked for any KYC. Even in this case it was a sim damage issue not KYC.

I was feeling helpless and not understanding where to go because nobody is listening. I paid full amount to airtel.
