- Complaint against Acko General Insurance NonSettlement of Car Insurance claim following TL Open
*. My car was inundated in the apartment basement following heavy rains on June **th early morning (**th midnight).
*. A claim was raised on June**th morning. Following this, there was no response from Acko. After repeated follow ups, received the call from the Acko SPOC and surveyor who conducted the survey and declared the vehicle total loss. This took close to *-* days and spent Rs **,*** towards Vehicle repair estimation from Skoda. During this time, Acko was only interested in getting the documents (sometimes on App, sometimes on email, sometimes on both and the same set of documents).
*. During the above, Acko provided no services such as towing of the vehicle. All the expenses w.r.t getting the vehicle out of the water was handled with my personal finances.
*. Acko SPOC asked me to get the vehicle scrapped and RC Cancellation letter to be submitted to Acko (Email dated ** June and the confirmation email from me on same day following telephonic discussion confirming that I can go ahead with scrapping of car) - following which the claim will be settled. This was the only piece of information parroted by Acko since June ** to Oct ** October ****. There was no mention of car salvage or anything in this regard.
*. Oct **th I submitted the cancelled RC letter from RTO. After having spent * months of personal time and money on getting the RC cancelled and car scrapped after RTO officials inspection (spent Rs **,***), the Acko guy wakes with his nonsense about car salvage. This is nothing but a lame attempt by Acko to make some money by warming their worthless bottoms. I asked for the full settlement of Rs *,**,*** (Vehicle IDV - Rs *,**,*** minus Rs *,***) to be completed as soon as possible. Acko SPOC and everyone from Acko has been missing since then. Request your help in finding them and getting them to settle the claim asap.
This is also a question mark on whether the licenses being given to a few lame software developers who claim to have digitised Insurance processes by creating an app (which also does not work and has no information required by the consumers) are truly doing justice to the consumers. Not only are they opaque and not reachable, they lie blatantly in the emails to customers saying "we tried to reach you on your phone but were unable to reach you". Would appreciate your quick action and response on this.
