Dilip Kumar Margam filed complaint against Air India on May 18, 2023
A total mismanagement by Air India staff handling my checked-in baggage for the following reasons
*. My baggage was detained on **th April. The Bangalore Air India security team reached out to me on the phone after * days of detaining my baggage.
*. The reason for detaining baggage is that they suspect my baggage has a power bank. But my baggage didn't have a power bank, I think Air India security is using outdated machines which can not properly identify power banks. I shared my baggage password. They have opened it and realised that it is not a power bank but it is a laptop charger (power adapter).
*. I was travelling from SFO, if my baggage had a power bank it would have been detained in SFO airport. This clearly shows that AirIndia baggage scan machines are outdated.
*. My baggage had a TSA lock which can be opened with a TSA master key, but they didn't do that.
*. Despite sharing my baggage password, I had received my baggage in damaged form (broken wheel) after a week. And I had to go to the carrier's location to pick up my luggage.
My missing baggage has caused a lot of inconvenience and mental pressure for me. I had a totally disappointing experience with Air India and I would never want to travel with Air India.
I haven't received any compensation for this trouble.
