- Airline reschedule loss Open
It was our *st wedding anniversary I and my husband decided to celebrate the same by travelling to Andaman Island. We booked our flight from Pune to Port Blair for dep on **th Feb night from Pune and return to Pune on **th Feb. While the first leg of the journey was all well, we faced a lot of trouble and harassment due to rescheduling of our return flight from Port Blair to Bangalore by the airline.

No direct flight from Port Blair to Pune hence booked the below option which was displayed on MMT website
Port Blair – Bangalore – Spicejet SG *** @**pm dep and arrive Bangalore @*.** pm PNR - KCIWJD
Bangalore to Pune - Goair G* *** @ **** dep – arrival at **.** in Pune PNR – R*JMFW
Amount Paid – *****/-
On *th February, I got a mail stating that the Spice Jet flight has been rescheduled from ** pm to **.**pm due to an airport runway closure at Bengaluru. This flight which was to reach Bangalore at *.** pm, would now arrive at **.**pm. This obviously wouldn’t reach Bangalore in time for the next connecting flight to Pune at **** hrs.
I called up customer care of MakeMyTrip to offer a resolution to this and very conveniently they denied to help me on this case stating that MMT is not responsible for any delays caused by the airline. Getting in touch with their customer care is as difficult a job as climbing Mount Everest. The long waiting time to talk to an executive and to top it all their inefficiency to handle customer complaints adds to the agony that a customer is going through at that point of time. I still didn’t give up and decided to write to them to see if they can offer any help by talking to the airlines and offering any help. Only got replies like – “We are working on your case and will revert in ** hours”.
I kept writing to them but still didn’t receive any response and finally wrote a complaint mail to them. I finally decided to call up SpiceJet and Go Air individually as I didn’t want to suffer the brunt of the airline cost for no mistake of ours, SpiceJet who had rescheduled the flight offered to amend the Port Blair to Bangalore flight by +/- * days as per policy without any extra charge, however they denied any help to reschedule the missed flight from Bangalore to Pune as it was a different carrier. I was again on point zero as ultimately I wouldn’t have been able to board the connecting flight to Pune.
Called up Go Air and they too denied to reschedule or refund the flight from Bangalore to Pune. I was left with no option but to cancel this flight and had to rebook another one. The Goair customer care confirmed to me that the refund for this flight would be around ****/- however MakeMyTrip only refunded me ***/-. Booked a new flight from BLR – PNQ Air Asia I* **** on MakeMyTrip with Booking ID - NF************** and paid INR ****/-
This whole scenario had already dumped our vacation mood and caused us immense torture and frustration. My husband, who is a businessman, had a meeting lined up in Mumbai with foreign delegates on **th Feb, however, it was impossible for us to reach Pune on time as the flight timings were of the evening only. It was quite a shame for him as this was a very big opportunity of collaboration for his company, which unfortunately he missed due to his absence on the given date of the meeting.
I appeal to compensate the below charges for the mental harassment and agony we had to suffer along with loss in business
