I booked Kochi – Sharjah ticket for myself and my wife with Airindia Express on **-Jan-**** [confirmation number HQMINJ] for travel on **-Apr-**** paying INR. *****.**. The booking and payment was done online from my bank account. Due to Covid ** pandemic all flight transport were cancelled from around **-Mar-**** and in order to save the amount I cancelled subject air ticket on **-Mar-**** as there was no response regarding flight cancellation from Airindia Express. Even on cancellation almost * days before the travel date and for a reason not accountable to me, I got an online receipt indicating payment of INR + ****.** and INR - *****.** to me. Subsequent to this Airindia Express have not given my refund till today **-Aug-****. I had written to Airindia Express Customercare * times so far requesting that there shall not be any deduction for the refund of fare of a cancelled flight and the full booking amount INR *****.** shall be released at the earliest. The *th mail on this subject was sent to Airinda Express Customercare on Monday **-Apr-**. The last two or three mails I was given a typical response by Customercare that they are working on my case, where as most of the earlier mails had standard response that they are experiencing high email volumes and it may take a while to respond to your emails. I have tried to call their Customercare number while at Sharjah and tried to chat online but none of the facility could be reached. Meanwhile I had lost my Sharjah job and returned to India. Also I have stopped writing to Airindia Express Customercare thinking of escalating the issue to a higher forum.
Airindia Express had caused major grief and mental stress on me still, by not advising in time what to do with cancelled flight booking, by deducting cancellation charges when I cancelled my ticket of a cancelled flight, not responding to my follow up mails for refund with minimum respect towards customer and a time schedule of refund. I request kind intervention of consumer court for Airindia Express to refund my ticket fare alongwith all the charges for court procedures.
