Electronic Commerce or E-Commerce refers to the buying and selling of products or services on online portals through the Internet. E-Commerce sales have skyrocketed in the last decade as it is considered to be the best, most effective way for buying and selling online.
Online shopping sites such as Flipkart, Amazon, Snapdeal, Myntra, Ebay are common examples. It is also customer friendly as the consumer can sit at home and browse through various products and purchase the product which he likes.

E-Commerce frauds / scams are quite prevalent in almost all the cities in India like New Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore etc. The most common types of E-commerce frauds include Gift Card Fraud, asking for Card details, product not delivered, offering jobs abroad, fake products etc.
Most of these fake E-commerce sites will offer insane discounts such as 80% or even 90% which then catches the eye of the consumer. Many fraud E-commerce sites also claim that you have won a gift card and on purchasing something from their website you will get Car or a huge TV in return.
It is important to be aware of these fraudulent websites and not be lured away by their trap. It is equally important to first read the review of the E-Commerce website that you are willing to purchase from. Also, no trustworthy E-commerce website will ever call you to ask for Card details, because if they do, it is likely a fraud.
Thereby one should be careful of all these scams and should purchase only from the well known sites. But recently a lot of people started having bad experiences with these famous e-commerce companies as well.
Types of E-commerce Complaints or Online Scams
The most popular or widely seen e-commerce complaints are:

- Receiving damaged product in the order

2. Contact through Social Media:
Secondly, you should try reaching out to companies through Social Media. It does not matter whether you are in Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore or Patna, Social media is one of the most important feedback channels for people and the brands usually have teams to monitor the complaints.
3. Send Legal Notice:
Thirdly, consumers can take legal action against companies and can send legal notices to ecommerce companies. Check below to know how to send a legal notice to the company?
Step 1: Firstly, get a legal notice drafted by a lawyer.
Step 2: Check it properly and make sure it is signed by a lawyer.
Step 3: Keep a copy of it for future purposes.
Step 4: Send the legal notice to the e-commerce company by registered post.
Step 5: Keep the slip or delivery report for evidence.
