Hello Sir/Ma'am,
This email is directed to convey the amount of discomfort my partner and I had to face at the airport while we were trying to check in for flight SG-**** on Feb *rd ****.
*. Both of us were carrying a laptop bag and a handbag. The handbags were around *kg each and the laptop bags were additional weights which usually are with all the other airlines. However, we were asked to pay around **k extra for those bags which is much more than the cost of the airline tickets. This is never the case with any other airline. We have always traveled with a similar amount and weight of luggage and have never ever faced these issues. The employees were extremely rude and not ready to bend at all. We understand if your weight policy is different than other airlines, but we suggest you revise it because the price of the tickets is comparable to other airlines but the luggage allowance and customer experience are not.
*. The flight was already running late by * hour initially but slowly it got delayed beyond * hours. We had to catch an international flight from New Delhi and we couldn't afford to get delayed so much. The Spicejet employees were unable to tell us for sure if the aircraft would be ready to depart at least by noon also or not. We were panicking a lot and had to book different tickets with another airline at an elevated price right there at the airport. Even after that we had to stand in a long queue to raise our request for the ticket price to be reimbursed with SpiceJet and had to rush through security to catch another plane. However, by choosing another airline we were at least able to reach the New Delhi airport, had to hurry through check in and security and then could board our plane to Seattle in the last boarding call. We were also able to carry all our luggage at absolutely no additional cost. We also noticed later on that the Spicejet aircraft actually departed more than three hours later than it was scheduled to depart at.
We request you to please be considerate of the number of hassles, delays and worries your airline caused us and provide us additional compensation which is the difference in the cost of both airlines. We were trying to fly from Spicejet for the first time only because it was supposed to reach New Delhi early in the morning. However, the experience has been so disappointing that I am worried that it might now be our last choice to fly with. I hope that you will consider our request and take appropriate action for customer satisfaction.
