Complaint Description:
I purchased a rice cooker from Croma (Infiniti Retail Ltd, a Tata Enterprise). Within * days of normal usage, the product suddenly stopped working while in operation. I immediately took the unit to the Croma store.
On the first visit, the staff only inspected it briefly and did not provide any explanation. Later, I received a call stating that the product could be exchanged, but no written confirmation or reason was given. After some time, I received another call from Croma, where they claimed that the inner plate looked black and that there was physical damage. However, they did not open the unit for a proper inspection, nor did they provide any proof, photos, or technical report to support their claim.
The rice cooker was used normally with no mishandling or external damage. If any internal marks are present, they are likely due to an internal component fault or manufacturing defect, which should be covered under warranty.
Croma’s refusal to provide proper details, supporting evidence, or the relevant warranty policy clause makes this an unfair and unclear rejection of a genuine warranty claim.
I request the consumer forum’s intervention to ensure appropriate action and resolution, including free repair or replacement under warranty or a full refund, and to direct Croma to maintain transparency and fairness in their warranty claim handling process.
