Subhendu Malakar filed complaint against Ola Cabs on Jan 3, 2021
I took an outstation trip from my hometown to Haldia on **th of december, ****.
While booking the estimation of the trip was Rs ****. They had estimated the distance to be ***kms and time to be * hour.
I don't know how the estimation comes as * hr of a trip of *** kms. I thought it might have been a typo. I booked the cab * days ago.
On the day of travel, before * hour I got a call from the driver asking me if the trip is paid in cash. I said no as I've booked it via my credit card. He asked me to cancel the trip and book again. I didn't want to, but he said that he had no money to pay for the fuel. he said that don;t worry, there is no other cab available, so even if I re-book i'll get the samecab. I had to cancel the booking, and ola charged me *** rs for that. I re-booked and selected cash this time.
After the trip was completed, I was shown a bill of ****. Upon checking the invoice, it showed that they have added extra time of * hrs as the base time estimated by them was * hr and the trip took *hr ** mins. On top of that, the driver asked me to pay for the toll charges for the return trip.
I asked ola's customer care and they said that the extra charge is normal and nothing can be refunded. For the driver issue, they raised a complaint and then send me mail with the steps to be followed. When I went through the steps, it showed a page saying nothing can be done.
So in all, these are the extra charges that Ola Cabs had charged me:
*. Rs *** for the extra time taken in the trip due to wrong estimation from their side.
*. Rs *** from the driver.
*. Rs *** due to driver declining to go a prepaid trip.
