Policy Bazaar - Motor Insurance Claim

I renewed my policy in January **** after having purchased the vehicle from the previous owner in November ****.

The incident with my vehicle happened on the **th of November ****.

The surveyor came and examined the vehicle and after his OK the work started. I am sure the surveyor has submitted the reports to the office. The re-inspection was conducted and the reports were sent.

I visited the Oriental office on the **th of Feb **** where I was told that when insurance is renewed after purchasing it from the previous owner there needs to be an inspection which has not happened and hence the claim will not be passed.

What was happening all these months? Whatever documents were asked for were given. Still, there was no intimation from either your surveyor or your organization.

The issue was discussed with the policy bazaar team, they said that the inspection happens from the organization's end and that the client doesn’t have to bother about it. This has happened almost * year after I purchased the vehicle and have paid the second premium too.

The vehicle has never had any claim so far.

I am sure the insurers can get the details. When insurance is ported from another insurer you do an online verification and if any discrepancy is found the client is intimated. In this one year, I have got no such intimation.

What I did was, as a responsible citizen, I got my policy renewed and to my BAD LUCK I had to go with Policy Bazaar, even when the Maruti Guys were calling me.

Nothing of this sort happened and suddenly, that too when I enquired, I was told that the claim will not be passed. A Layman doesn’t know of these inspection Clauses.

The Policy bazaar team also said that the inspection is the lookout of the company and not me.

THE SURVEYOR HAS COMMITTED A BLUNDER OF GIVING A WRONG VEHICLE NUMBER, which again is not my fault.
