Piyush Kumar NIrmal filed complaint against Apple on Sep 29, 2018
On ** July **** I bought iPhone * **GB Jet Black colour (Serial No. F**WJ**YJ*KN & IMEI No. ***************) from Reliance Digital at Logix mall Noida.
This device was a manufacturing defect, which I began to realize when I saw that the colour of the body was coming off distinctly at several places.
On the morning of **thJuly ****, I produced the phone at the Reliance Digital store demanding a replacement to which the response was that they couldn’t help me out because they were not responsible for any damage to the goods after sales.
Thereafter, I was prompted to send an email to the Reliance digital grievance team.
It was followed by a visit to theTresor System Pvt Ltd (Apple authorized service centre). The conversation there wasn’t encouraging for me as they sort of inferred that no cosmetic damage was covered under guarantee.
Later the same day I called the Apple customer support hoping for a quick resolution and lodged a complaint about the device and the preposterous incident I was led through. They asked me to share the photos of the device focussing the parts where discoloration had started. After I had addressed their request I was asked to wait for *-* working days.
On **thJuly **** I got a call from Apple support on which I was assured my device will be replaced on account of manufacturing defect. In order to consummate the process of replacement I would be required to visit Tresor System Pvt Ltd (Apple authorized service centre). They asked me to wait for * working days at the end of which the replacement of the phone would be provided.
On **rdAugust **** I got a call from Tresor System Pvt Ltd (Apple authorized service centre) to confirm that the replacing device has been received by them and I was supposed to collect from the alleged location.
They handed over an unpacked device while I claimed it was a refurbished device to which I told no it wasn’t and continued to maintain that it was a new device(Serial No. FYLWW**UJ*KN & IMEI No. ***************).
Next day on * august **** this device began to show discoloration on different places.
It was very disappointing, so I once again called the apple telephonic support. They asked me to send the photos again and wait for *-* working days.
On **th August **** I got called from apple care. It looked to me that the engineering team had strong reasons to believe after seeing the shared photos of the phone the discoloration and abrasions were a result of outside source. In that event they would be unable to provide replacement for discoloration becauseit was not covered under warranty.
Some expect state Iphone * Jet black is worse quality device because of Discoloration happening in mostly Iphone * Jet Back.
On ** August I sent Email to Apple, but they haven’t responded on it yet.
Let me state the record that I didn’t inflict any kind of damage on the system and that I should be compensated for the loss of trust and the valuable money I spent on it. I want get my money back with compensation.
