Amazon - Malpractice Negligent behavior and harassment

I have ordered a voltage stabilizer on **th April. Which I needed urgently as my AC installation was pending due to it. Amazon on the behalf of seller Vguard Industries had promised to ship it on **th April **** and deliver it on or before *th May ****. Today is *rd May and the product has not yet been shipped, despite numerous complains they have done nothing concrete on their part. Initially they (amazon customer support team) just gave me fake promises saying that the product will definitely get delivered on or before *th may. And eventually they have started to subtly pressure me into cancelling the product saying the product is not available with the seller. This has caused me monetary loss and a lot of mental harassment. I have two questions -
*. How can they take order for product which they don't have in stock.
*. If it wasn't in stock then why wasn't I immediately informed about it so that I could have arranged some alternative.

This isn't the first time something like this has happened with me. I wish to take strict action against amazon so that they do not repeat this again.
