I had ordered * numbers of shampoo amounting Rs. *** from Amazon (Order# ***-*******-*******) on * July **** and received it on * July **** evening. I had ordered * numbers of shampoo in order to save the delivery charges otherwise, I would have to pay Rs. ** as delivery charges.
When I opened the shampoo packet, I found two problems with the delivery. First, the packet had only * numbers of shampoo in it. Second, all of them were different from what the amazon website had mentioned. I had ordered Biotique Bio Walnut Bark Fresh Lift ‘Body Building Shampoo’ For Fine & Thinning Hair, ***Ml’. However, I received Biotique ‘Volumizing shampoo’. So, just then, I complained about this issue to amazon customer care. I also sent them product images on Amazon’s email support as directed by them. They asked to wait for * days and contact on or after ** July ****.
When on ** July ****, I phoned Amazon customer care they told that they have done the investigation and based on the investigation they will not process any return or refund on the same product. Also, they will not hear anything on this complaint from now onwards. This was an autocratic decision and I am very much frustrated with their this kind of response. This is not the first time when Amazon has given this kind of response. In the past also, they have given these kinds of decisions and those times, the value of my product was more than Rs. **,***. I am a senior Research Scholar at IIT Kanpur, one of the best research institutions of India and my schedule is generally very busy. I had to waste a lot of time and energy and had undergone a lot of mental frustration due to amazon’s this kind of behaviour. So, I accepted their decision during those times.
However, now I observe that these kinds of decisions have become a habit of amazon and this way amazon is cheating its customers. So, this time, I am raising the issue here (though the amount is not so much big). Through this forum, I request the concerned authorities to take suitable action in this case and help in getting either my product returned/replaced or money refunded.
I am attaching the invoice for the purchased product for the kind information to the concerned authorities.
