Mmt - Hotel Booking cancelled on the check in date

I booked * star hotel with MMT for my family in Dubai for * nights, on reaching Dubai, MMT cancelled our booking and neither provided alternative hotel stating that whole city is booked due to an event. We were ** people left without a stay in new city. Later we only found one hotel and ask mmt to book it but instead of booking it, they refunded the initial amount and said we cant provide any booking now. And asked to book from our end and they will refund the difference as well. Its been * week now they are not giving us back our refund
