I am writing to express my disappointment and frustration regarding my recent order experience on Swiggy (Order ID: #***************]). On November *st, I ordered dates through your platform, but upon receiving the order, I was shocked to find that the dates were infested with fungus.
I immediately raised a complaint requesting a refund of ₹***, the full amount I paid for the order. However, Swiggy's response has been unsatisfactory, citing that since I opted for Cash on Delivery (COD), a refund is not possible.
I strongly disagree with this reasoning. The payment method should not dictate whether a customer is eligible for a refund or not. As a customer, I have paid Swiggy the agreed-upon amount, regardless of the payment mode. It is Swiggy's responsibility to ensure the quality of the products sold through their platform.
Swiggy's stance implies that COD payments are equivalent to receiving the item for free, which is absurd. COD merely means that the payment is collected upon delivery, not that the customer forfeits their right to a refund in case of defective or unsatisfactory products.
To support my claim, I have attached photos/videos of the fungus-infested dates to customercare. I also request that you send me the call recording of our previous conversation, as I returned the infested item.
I request that you:
*. Reconsider my refund request
*. Conduct a formal investigation into this matter
*. Take necessary actions to address quality control issues
I hope Swiggy values its customers' trust and resolves this matter fairly, as per the Consumer Protection Act, ****.
