Make my trip - Fraudulent practice by Make My Trip overcharged for baggage allowance inspite of having paid and wr

- I booked * tickets for my family of TAP Portugal Airline on **th February via the Make My Trip (MMT) portal - who acted as an authorised agent of the airline. Our travel dates were for later on **th May. I had selected the baggage allowance of ** kg each because obviously we had our luggage with us.

However on the date of travel, the airline said that the money for baggage allowance was not submitted by the agent (MMT) to them and as a result I was made to pay extra ** Euros each for * tickets (total *** euro x ** exchange rate = *****/- total). The Airline official at the venue said that this agent is notorious for such fraud as there were other similar passengers arguing at the same counter. . The mental stress that this causes us at the last minute is tremendous as we were about to miss out flight due to fraud.

The way the fraud is committed is by overcharging for excess baggage and by submitting lesser money to the airline. To hide the disparity the agent is simply changing the email ID given to the airline. So the agent - MMT - willfully changed the email ID supplied to the airline. Instead of giving my official registered email ID, another invalid email ID was given. The airline sent the orginal ticket to an invalid email ID. Whereas the agent MMT issued a fraud ticket which showed excess baggage allowance included to me. Because the email IDs were different the fraud couldn't get verified before hand.

Most passengers pay up the extra fees at the airline because they don't want to ruin their trip. Like me they keep complaining to the airline and agents , but both don't respond and this way they are pocketing millions in extra charges.

After coming back, I have raised multiple complaints and followed up at least ** times but the agent is not willing to give me my refund. I rather want to sue them for the mental agony caused not only to me but to so many similar gullible passengers.
