Jet Airways - Flight cancellation without prior information

My brother was supposed to travel on **th March from Delhi-Bengaluru at *:** am. On reaching airport (Delhi) he was told at the counter that flight got cancelled, no prior information was provided. What they offered was a flight from Delhi via Bangalore on **th March evening. My brother couldn't have waited for * days. They did not provide any other options, but only to cancel the flight. He had to also cancel his return ticket from Bangalore to Delhi on **rd. The idiots sent no message or communication about the cancellation and the workaround they were providing so that he could have managed somehow.
