Noha Khan filed complaint against Airtel on Oct 7, 2020
I'm requesting that my sim card be returned. That is all. I have pleaded and begged and nothing's happened. Below is the detailed account of everything that's happened over the past ** months:
*) January **** - I enabled roaming for one week (*rd - **th Jan). It expired after that. Fifteen days later, I travel back to the US and magically, I'm charged for roaming because I didn't call to cancel.No prior intimation, message or call was made to let me know that I had to. I was charged Rs. ***** for roaming I never even signed up for.
*) April - May: I didn't pay the Rs. ***** and reached out to various Airtel people to resolve this. Late April-May I start getting called EVERYDAY at *am and *am to pay the outstanding amount. After two months of these calls and no resolutions, they threatened to cancel my number so I gave in and paid Rs ****. The caller promises me that the sim will be given to me within * days of paying the bill.
*) September ****: Now it's been three months I've paid the money and my brother is running pillar to post in India but they won't give him the sim card. The lady who extorted the money from me won't even pick up her phone. They ask someone from my family to travel to another city to get the sim. I am helpless and frustrated and I don't know what to do.
No one from Airtel has ever responded over the past six months with anything other than demands to pay money. When they do, they lie about when the disconnection happened, when I paid the bill - EVERYTHING. This is the most selfish unscrupulous behavior that I have ever had to put up with.
