I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with both the product quality and the customer service I have received from Dell. I purchased a Dell Inspiron **** *-in-* laptop from Reliance Digital in Vashi nine months ago.
Initially, I faced an issue where the charging ports suddenly stopped working for *-* days. I didn’t panic and took matters into my own hands by visiting the Dell website, downloading some drivers, and after a few hours of installation, the issue resolved itself. However, I have recently encountered a far more concerning issue.
While gently closing the laptop, the hinges of the foldable screen came apart. This indicates a serious defect in the product, as the hinges should not come loose under such minimal force. It is clear that I was sold a faulty piece, and this raises serious concerns about the overall quality control of your products.
When I reached out to Dell for assistance, I was informed that I would have to pay for the repairs. I fail to understand why I should bear the cost of a defect that is clearly not my fault. If the laptop had been dropped, mishandled, or subjected to external force, there would be visible damage beyond just the hinges coming apart. However, as you can see from the attached images, there are no signs of other physical damage to the laptop.
I believe that Dell should take full responsibility for the faulty product and provide a resolution without charging me for repairs. I request a thorough investigation into this matter and a prompt response outlining how you intend to resolve the situation.
I expect a satisfactory resolution, as this issue reflects poorly on the reputation of your brand.
