On *th August ****, I bought a WIO *T*** FULLY INTEGRATED Whirlpool dishwasher (through ‘Int Ext’ Interiors) for our new house and installed it on **th September **** by MM Enterprises in Chennai. We moved into this new house only by end of September. From the very beginning, we had problems with the dishwasher.
First, the service team from whirlpool (through MM Enterprises) didn’t provide earthing and I got a static shock from the device several times. The service person who installed the appliance said they are not responsible for it and I have to do it on my own. I had a local electrician fix it.
Second, after a few weeks, we noticed that the appliance was not heating up the water in any of the modes provided in the appliance and the door of the dishwasher won’t open up automatically once the run is complete. I raised Complaint through the whirlpool online portal CHE*********** - Sep **th. I haven’t received any response from whirlpool for this for almost two weeks and so I tried to call customer care number **** *** **** (toll-free) and I was told I need to call another number for built-in appliances and this number is NOT toll-free **** *** ****. By calling this number I spend a few rupees waiting in queue and registering a complaint. And for another few weeks, I didn’t receive any response at all. Then I had to create a few more complaints online CHE*********** - March **th, Apr *th - CHE***********, CHE*********** - April **th. Finally, I got a call from Whirlpool that the agency will come in and check. Around the month of April, Karthik from whirlpool walked into my home and said that heater needs to be replaced and he would call me later once he confirms the warranty. After a week or so I got a call from Karthik that this is not covered by warranty and I need to pay *k for replacement. He also took ***rs as a travel allowance for the service visit.
Then I took the matter with Whirlpool helpdesk via email and Twitter direct message. (Attached are the conversations) I got a response from care manager ‘Kashish Sharma’ from whirlpool that the concerned team will contact me. Mid of May the heater was replaced and another ***rs travel allowance was taken by the service team. Third problem – The very next day of fixing the heater, the door of the detergent dispenser and rinse aid dispenser was not opening automatically during the wash. The wash gets completed without detergent or rinse aid. This is of no use and all utensils come out unclean. After trying several different steps the service person asked us to do over call, which didn’t help to solve the problem, We stopped using the dishwasher as it is unusable. Then Karthik informed us that this is not covered in warranty again and the whole door needs to be replaced!!
I again reached out to Twitter handle and emails of Whirlpool on May **nd and **th and no solid response yet. I bought a product from whirlpool for **k rupees and was not able to use it for almost a year and given that I tried to resolve over various mediums of connecting with whirlpool but didn’t bear any fruits. I’m filing a notice to get back my money and Whirlpool can take their unusable product.
