DTDC - Damage of the instrument

I have booked ** Veena (musical instrument) in a wooden box to the U.S through esteemed courier service DTDC. M.V.P. Colony Branch, Visakhapatnam on **.**.**** vide Invoice No. N******** by paying more than the cost of goods as transport charges. But it is regretted to inform you that when the consignment was received by my daughter-in-law in the U.S she was noticed that the item was in broken condition and not at all useful to play. I am enclosing the photo's showing the condition of the item for your information. The instrument was purchased through M/s. Craft Development Centre (Unit of A.P Handicrafts Development Corporation Ltd) vide cash bill No.****, on **.**.**** at a total cost of Rs. **,***/-. The original copy of the bill was also handed over to them at the time of booking. Towards transportation, I have paid an amount of Rs. **,***/-.
As the item was damaged during transhipment by courier services, I have approached the dealer at MVP colony from where I have booked the item. They have told that no compensation will be paid to the damaged items. It is not understood how they can do this. There will be insurance as the item was damaged during your shipment only and no fault of us. I request you to kindly help to refund the amount of Rs. **,***/- i.e, cost of the instrument Rs. **,***/- plus transportation charges of Rs.**,***/- which was actually paid. The amounts can be verified from the dealer. An early action in this regard is requested.
