ABC filed complaint against Indigo Airlines on Apr 19, 2018
I was flying from Dubai to Mumbai and my hand baggage was within the * kgs limit. I then shopped at duty free in Dubai and we are entitled to * liters of alcohol to bring back to India.
At the gate, Indigo representatives were weighing hand baggage, and they insisted on weighing my duty free alcohol purchase. They pointed out small print on the back of the boarding card which shows that the * kgs includes duty free purchases.
This is ridiculous and a scam. They do not make it properly known that the * kgs includes duty free purchases. Further, a hand bag strolley weighs * kgs. If one purchases * liters as allowed by law, that adds another * kgs weight. So, there is no scope for carrying any hand baggage!
This is deceitful behaviour especially as my checked in baggage was below the ** kgs limit. Further, if they had prominently informed all passengers about this, nobody will buy from duty free and will instead pick up from duty free in their destination country.
I got my refund. You guys have really helped me when I needed it the most! Thanks again for your help :-)
