I booked * tickets one for me and * for my kids through yatra.com from Edinburgh to New Delhi via Birmingham in April ****. Travel date ** June ****.
The ticket issued an email sent to us. On travel date, while check-in we got to know that ticket was cancelled by yatra. We were not informed and neither was our payment refunded. I and my * kids were stranded at Edinburgh airport without any information from yatra. We kept trying yatra customer care number from airport from a landline but it was not connecting. It finally got connected to my mobile. Yatra customer care first said that tickets are booked but later on cross-checking, they said that the ticket was successfully booked and issued but later due to some technical error at their end it was cancelled.
I was not informed by yatra about this. Neither was there any refund in my account which could hint me about the cancellation. I kept begging them for issuance of the tickets for me and my kids but no use. They were not ready to help me instead asked me to purchase a new ticket for the next day which cost * lacs. This is pure harassment.
I want to sue yatra for the mental emotional physical and financial trauma that I and my kids went through. Please suggest.
