I traveled from SLL Salalah International airport to TRV Trivandrum International Airport on IX*** Air India Express flight. I was cancelling my visa and returning back to India. Baggage allowance provided by the airlines was **KG. My weight was around **KG. Air India Express provides an opportunity to purchase extra luggage allowance and an option for the same is available in their website as well. Their website link was redirecting me to some other link due to which I was unable to purchase extra luggage from website. I tried calling up the customer care number and they informed me to contact the office. My parent got in touch with Air India Express Trivandrum office and they informed that you have to book the luggage through the website. I tried to get in touch with multiple agencies and even the airport themselves who were not able to help me. Because I am a returning NRI I could not dispose these necessary items. At the airport they fined me OMR **.* at OMR * per KG. This act from Air India is totally unprofessional charging customers at * times their money behind a non functional option for booking luggage allowance. Either Air India Express should state at first that they are not providing extra baggage allowance.
